Hi,

Here's a quick summary of what was said on irc during this week's status
meeting for the Perl QA Hackathon 2012 (based on the irc logs).

Progress:
- mdk announced that EPO had sent the sponsoring money
- shadowcat is going to sponsor Barbie's travel directly and add 250 GBP
for a total value of 400 GBP
- invoices have been sent to Dyn, DuckDuckGo, Jaguar Network
- the necessary information for the donation has been given to Dijkmat
- DuckDuckGo's sponsorship has been received
- waiting payment from: Hedera Tech, Dyn, Jaguar Network, and Dijkmat
- the Paypal button brought us 10 € + 190 $ so far
- more information about the venue (Carrefour Numérique):
- can host 40 seats easily, up to 50 if people squeeze a little
- will have dedicated wifi, with http, https, ssh, ftp (at least) open
- it's OK to have lunch/break inside (please keep the place clean)
- opening hours: 9am - 7pm (we can ask for more)
- requires names for badges by March 1st
(to be able to enter the site outside public open hours)
- logos for panel (to be displayed inside the Cite des Sciences)
to be provided by March 1st too
- the room where we will work can be secured (locked) if we leave
- the room has a projector and a screen
- Les Mongueurs de Perl will bring their videocamera
- all rooms but one have been upraded to quadruple (for 3 people),
so we can accommodate 23 people in 8 rooms
- still waiting for messages from several prospective sponsors who
did contact us or reply non-negatively to our request for sponsorship
(123people, lokku / nestoria, teclib)
- the current budget is less than 1500 EUR short
- several expenses are still estimates
- hotel breakfast won't be covered by the hackathon, because breakfast
will be served at the hackathon

Still to do:
- update the venue / accomodation page page with more precise direction
information
- email the last few non-registered people
- email registered attendees, with precise info about sponsorship and
how refunds will be handled, and asking for more info from those who
haven't given enough details yet

There was some discussion about the number of attendees, as we are
getting close to 40. Even at only 1 minute per person, the daily standup
is going to eat up 40 minutes already, which seems a waste of precious
hacking time.

Several solutions were discussed, some technical (using the wiki), some
social (do the standup at the end of the day, with a penaly --like paying
the first round of drinks-- to the one who speaks longuest). We will add
a wiki page to try and propose a rough schedule for each day.
